2014 Burton Freestyle Youth Binding Overview
Hey there. Welcome to the Morning Shred brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna. I've got Levi from Burton here and we're going to talk about the Burton freestyle binding.
Levi, great binding to start off on. Who's this designed for? This binding's designed for kind of your average, either beginner or intermediate rider. Kind of the freestyle's claim to fame is just being an amazing binding at a price point so you're not getting all the bells and whistles you get up in the higher end but this is still a binding that can last you plenty of years. It's got a lifetime warranty on the base. It's got a lot of great features built into it that you don't get from other companies at this price point such as a huge bonus to this thing this year is this Reflex Base. Basically we've gotten rid of some of the material on here to make it so that this binding can actually flex under foot. And what it does is it gets rid of pressure points on the outside of the binding and opens up the flex pattern of the board and then you combine that with a couple other great features like this AdataCap Toe Strap where you can ride it over the front or over the top.
Also, it's a a nice soft ankle strap and then adjustable highback where you can adjust forward lean and also rotate this highback around. So... So then, yeah. Now you've got Reflex on all your bindings which is a lot of value at this price point, like you said. Definitely and a great thing about Reflex is it can work on basically any type of board. It can fit on 4-Hole Systems. It can fit on Channel Systems and it can also fit on the Burton 3-Hole System so it comes with three sets of discs ready to go on any type of board basically. And, it's just gonna give you even better feel, even better energy transfer. Lightens up the binding. Not giving you that dead spot underneath the bindings. Definitely, and also underneath your heel, instead of having hard material, we're able to replace all that with just this EVA padding and you've also got this full bed of padding underneath your foot giving you nice level surface full of cushioning underneath there, so... So, really just a binding at a great price point and good binding to kind of start off on. Yeah, definitely. It's a great binding to progress in as well. Cool.
Well there you go. That's the Burton Freestyle. Make sure to check it out on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
