2014 Burton Jet Mens Boots Overview
Hey there. Welcome to the Morning Shred brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna. I've got Levi from Burton and we're going to talk about the Burton Jet.
Levi, who's this boot great for? This boot is going to be great for the beginner or intermediate rider or somebody looking for a nice, convenient price point system. The Jet is a boot that we introduced last year with our Speed Dial System. One of only a few boots in the men's line that has this and Speed Dial System is kind of Burton's answer to that person that just wants to twist their boot closed and we took the system that was kind of already out there on the market and we kind of made our own changes to it to what we hoped would benefit it and so what's great about our system is the fact that once you tighten this thing down you can also micro-adjust back off and loosen the boot rather than having to pop it and start over so micro-adjustment as well as the fact that instead of using a metal cable we're using a cord that we get from a company called New England Ropes; they do a lot with shipping ropes and climbing ropes and it's kind of like the cable you would find in a parachute cord so it's definitely still going to be nice and durable but instead of having metal on there, just having that rope on there makes it so that we don't have to put plastic over the tongue of the boot making it so there's not as many pressure points on the boot so definitely a huge benefit there.
This boot is also very lightweight. It's got our DynoLite EVA Outsole here and then also helping to lighten this boot is our liner system. We call the Phantom Liner where it feels like you're in a linered boot, you still have both these tongues right up here but it's actually an integrated liner system that still has all the warmth and comfort of a liner but it's actually integrated into the shell as one piece. Cool. And it still has your Burton Total Comfort Construction, right? Yep, Total Comfort Construction is something we've integrated down throughout the entire line up. and that's going to be this big open toebox here that we found out that by moving the laces up away from where your toe is connected to your foot, it takes away on a cramping point and that was always something Jake really pushed our boot team to fix is that out-of-the-box feel so right out-of-the-box this thing isn't going to be cramping your foot up at all. It's going to be very comfortable. Very soft and forgiving and easy-to-ride. And I like the use of that on-aid boot-with-a-dial system because it kind of pulls that lace further up so when people are resting their board on the chairlift on their boot, which people tend to do, it's not going to be coming into contact with the lace because it's so much higher up the boot. Yeah, definitely. Just kind of added benefit. Yep, added benefit there for sure.
Great. So this is the answer to the guy who's looking to maybe the Invader and looking for a convenient lacing system. Yep. Cool. Well, there you go. Make sure to check out the Jet on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
