2014 Burton Stiletto EST Mens Binding Overview
Hey there. Welcome to the Morning Shred brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna. I got Levi from Burton here and we're going to talk about the Burton Stiletto and Stiletto EST binding.
Levi, who's this binding really designed for? This binding's going to be great for either the beginner or intermediate rider. It's got a lot of great features built into it but the nice thing is it's not at a super-high price point so you've got a couple features that you wouldn't get on the binding below it, the Citizen, such as toolless adjustment here. It's also coming in an EST version which the Citizen didn't come in. For any of you guys that don't know, EST is Burton's system that mounts to the Channel on boards. And, it really opens up the flex of the board and so we take away all this material underfoot and replace it with padding. It allows it to flex underfoot. It also helps lighten up that binding. Also on this binding, you move to an asymmetrical high back here where the high back is actually following your leg up to your body. Just little things like that that help set it apart from the Citizen.
Okay. And then the disc version is Reflex, right? As all of the bindings are now? Yeah, this year Burton made a huge push in the binding world and made all of our disc bindings into Reflex bindings which allows for some of that EST-like flex underfoot but the great thing about it is it can fit on any board be it a 4-Hole board, a 3-Hole board or a Channel board so it comes with three sets of plates, ready to go on any board out there. Not quite as much flex as you get with the EST binding but it's up there for sure. Sure, yeah. The chassis is just here, here and this is all open padding, right? So, it's really going to allow it to flex. Yep. Give it a more feel of the board. Easier to progress. Definitely, so that's the Stiletto. Great. So, make sure you check out the Stiletto and Stiletto EST on snowboards.com. Like Levi said, it's a great binding for that entry-to-mid-level girl just looking for something that's maybe a step up from the Citizen, something she can progress a little bit more on. Thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
