2014 Ride EX Binding Overview
Hey there. Welcome to the Morning Shred brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna. This is Ryan from Ride and we're going to talk about the Ride EX Binding.
So, Ryan, who's this binding designed for? This binding is designed for the beginner- intermediate rider, anywhere from freestyle to a freeride rider. So, fairly soft-flexing binding. Tells us a little bit about the straps and what makes it such a great binding for that beginner-intermediate. We'll start off with the ankle straps, the RAD strap, it gives great support, great form. Great fit. The toe strap is a ThinGrip material. It allows to stretch out, fits just about any toe box in the game. You got tool-less adjustments. On both straps you've got tool-less adjustments. Rolling ratchet straps. You've got the Foundation Chassis which is an aluminum chassis. Tool-less, well not tool-less adjustment but it's adjustable heel cup. I think there's only 2 other brands out there that have an adjustable heel cup.
We've got the Wedgie Footbed which gives you some support and some cushion and also it's canted or it's angled which gives you a more comfortable riding, more natural riding sort of style. Less fatigue. Exactly. Less pressure on where your ankles and where your knees are sitting. Great. And then how about the highback on that? Highback is a comfort flex. It's an asymmetrical so it's going to give you good flex and very responsive but also very playful when you need it. So this year, I guess, there's a lot stepping up from the LX now that you have, you've got the aluminum chassis EX and up, correct? Right. Right. We did come out with a plastic binding so and why we did that is because we need to show what premium materials are and the premium material being aluminum.
Yep. So, there's, this is a great binding for that entry-level to mid-level rider who really wants a binding that's going to hold up throughout his years as he progresses not something that's just going to get him out on the hill. Something that's going to provide some comfort, some value, some performance, correct? Exactly. Great. Well make sure to check out the Ride EX on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
