2015 Burton Ambush Mens Boot Overview
Hey there, welcome to the Morning Shred brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna This is Levi from Burton and we're going to talk a little bit about the Burton Ambush Boot.
Levi, who's this boot for? This boot is great for kind of the intermediate to advanced rider. It's a great mix of comfort and performance. And one of the ways it kind of became famous in the Burton line up is it's one of the lightest weight boots we make. I'd say this is probably lighter than most tennis shoes out there. So, really impressive boot. And you hit on comfort of the boot so what makes it such a comfortable boot? Definitely a lot of great comfort features in here. It's got Total Comfort which Burton has integrated into pretty much all of our boots now where we really focus on the break-in time of the boot and we'd like to say that this boot, out of box, can be taken out on a hike and not give you any cramping but then also other great comfort features such as the Imprint 3 Liner which is going be a nice warm, supportive, comfortable liner as well as Sleeping Bag Technology where we put a metal strobel underneath the foot and it's meant to reflect heat back up to that rider keeping you nice and warm as well so being warm is definitely a big part of being comfortable. Absolutely.
You use the Speedzone so... Yep. ...you've got the Zonal Tightening System. Yeah, this boot has our convenience system that we call Speedzone where there's an upper and lower zone so you can really dial in the comfort of that boot. And it's going to be nice and super quick and easy to get in and out of. Then we also throw on, for comfort, some B3 Gel under the heel and give this boot, what we call, our DynoLight EST Outsole which is going to be a super lightweight outsole where it's meant to be able to flex with the binding and with the board and give you a feel for what's going on underneath your foot. EST stands for Extra Sensory Technology and so we're giving you an extra sense of what's going underneath that board. Nice, and this is where you do get into a little help with the anti-microbial... Yep. So, there's a coding on this liner that's supposed to help cut down the stink in your feet basically. So, we've also got downward facing materials that are meant to help hold your heel in there as well. Just all-around this boot is loaded up with a ton of great features You don't feel them in the weight either so it's got a ton of features and it's still amazingly lightweight so...
And flex-wise it's about Kind of in-between. It's going to have a great amount of support through what we call our Wishbone Technology where you've got 2 Carbon Rods stitched onto either side that allow us to maintain the support that we're looking for while still cutting away some of the extra materials and keeping this boot super lightweight. Perfect.
So, ideal boot for intermediate to advanced level guy. Yep. Looking for something nice and lightweight, comfortable and with a ton of board feel. Great. Well, make sure to check out the Ambush on snowboards.com. Thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
