2015 Burton Mint Womens Boot Overview
Hi there. Welcome to the Morning Shred brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna. This is Levi from Burton and we're going to talk about the Burton Mint.
Levi, this has been the world's, what, best-selling women's boot for 11 years now, right? Yeah. This has definitely earned its home in the Burton line and it's done that in a couple different ways. One of the big ones that make it a great step up from the Coco is the convenience lacing system we put on it. We call this Speedzone and the great thing about it is you actually have a convenience system where you get an upper and a lower zone of comfort so it's both quick and easy to get out of but then you can also fine tune it so there's an added amount of performance to that compared to some other systems out there so one cord is your lower zone, one's your upper, and it's quick and easy to get in and quick and easy to get out of. And no girl wants to waste time with breaking in her boot. These will have a great out-of-the-box feel as well, right? Yep. Correct.
This year, one of our big initiatives was what we call Total Comfort Construction and it's basically in every boot we make now and what we did here was Jake Burton, the head of our company, challenged our boot developers to really cut down on the break in time and make a boot that you could take out of the box and head hiking that same day with and one of the ways they did that was they found out that there's some different cramping zones in the foot of the traditional boot and by moving the laces up the toe box we were actually able to cut down on some of the cramping zones and make that boot that much more comfortable right out of the box so... And a really cool thing about this boot is what you guys call Sleeping Bag, right? Yep. That's another initiative of ours which we kind of blanket under, no pun intended there, but under our Total Warmth and so underneath the liner of the boot there's actually this little metal strobel which, I don't know if you've seen emergency blankets, but it's a very similar type material that's meant to reflect the heat of the rider back up into their feet, keeping them warm throughout the day. Which is very important for staying out all day.
Yep. Comfortable and.. Yep. This boot is also going to be very light too which is another thing about staying comfortable and stuff too is it almost feels like there's nothing on your foot. It's so comfortable, so lightweight. One of the ways they do that is through the DynoLite Outsoles so that's a nice, lightweight EVA sole that also gives you a little bit of a feel for what's going on underneath your foot and allows that board to really flex and you can feel what's going on underneath your boot and underneath your binding. Great. Well, if you're an intermediate, or a beginner to intermediate level rider looking for a soft flexing, very comfortable boot with plenty of little features for keeping you warm, make sure to check it out on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
