2015 Burton Mission Smalls and Scirbe Smalls Kids Binding Overview
Hi there. Welcome to the Morning Shred brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna. This is Levi from Burton and we're going to talk about the Burton Mission Smalls and the Scribe Smalls.
Levi, these are great little bindings for kids... Yeah. ...a lot of features the adult bindings have so tell us a little bit about them. These are both named after adult bindings because they basically are just like our adult bindings shrunk down so you're getting a huge list of features in a youth binding. A couple of the great features that set these apart from other kid bindings out there are going to be the Asymmetrical Primo Strap, we call it, which even in the small size is the kid stuff we're throwing on an asymmetrical ankle strap that gets wider on the outside so that the rider can lean towards the nose or tail of the board and still have added support there.
Also, it's got, what we call a full bed where the EVA on the base of the binding goes all the way across just giving you even more cushioning there. And also, all new for this year on both those bindings, is going to be the fact that it's Reflex where we actually get rid of a ton of material and allow the binding to flex with the board directly underneath your foot and so you can really get a feel for what's going on and it opens up the flex of the board. Normally when you mount a binding to a board there's some dead areas in the flex and especially with youth stuff or with them not weighing as much, flex is very important so with that Reflex, it opens up the flex of the board even more so that rider can get into presses or even just be able to control their board easier. So, it kind of just helps bump them up the next level of riding. Yeah, it's definitely great for progression so both those bindings as far as features go are hands-down the best out there for kids so...
And the Scribe's the little girl's binding and the Mission's the boy's binding, right? Yep. And I think its worth noting too that the quality of these bindings, I mean, a lot of bindings want to pass bindings down to a little brother or little sister but, you know, some bindings... Can't hold... It would be destroyed by the time it got to, you know, their siblings. Those are durable enough and... Yep, with all Burton bindings they come with a lifetime warranty on the base so these are things Burton definitely stands behind. These are built to last and built to take some abuse. I've seen some of our little kid pro riders that take these things off of huge 50 foot jumps and still, they take a beating and I haven't seen one of them break so, yeah, definitely meant to last.
Great. Well, if you're looking for a good quality binding for your kid, make sure to check out the Scribe Smalls or the Mission Smalls on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
