2015 Flow Haylo Womens Binding Overview
Hey there. Welcome to the Morning Shred brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna. This is Tim from Flow and we're going to talk about the Flow Haylo Binding.
Tim, who is this binding for? Kind of the new girl to the sport? Yeah, yeah, you know maybe the girl that maybe rented once or twice and says, yep, I like snowboarding and wants to get into, say, an entry-level to intermediate- level package. It features a full POM baseplate and highback. Real forgiving type plastic that is induced with nylon so it can handle cold temperatures. But the real feature of the Flow, obviously, is the reclining highback as you can see here. It makes it really easy to get in and out of the binding right from the get go. You merely just slide your boot inside here and close it and you're ready to head down the hill.
Some other features that are found on the binding itself. It has a little bit of EVA toe and heel padding to give more comfort to the rider and also stop the boot from sliding around a little. With a forward lean adjustment that takes place on the side, if you're not familiar, forward lean is simply how far forward the highback is. You may find it more comfortable have a little bit more forward lean than how it comes out of the box or you just play with this until you dial it in. And then, a micro-mini ratchet buckle so you can actually adjust the strap while you're in the binding so if you felt like your foot was moving around, you might pull over and just kind of crank it down once or twice, lock it into place and you're good to go.
Good binding that will get that first time buyer out the door and with a high- performance set up so to speak right at a reasonable price. Yeah, I remember when the micro-buckles were actually on the higher end, you had to go to the higher end bindings way back in the day to get them and now it's on the entry-level starting price-point. Absolutely, I mean, our philosophy at Flow is kind of like the automobile world, you know, the cars you can't afford have all the cool stuff and then ten years later they're all the way down to the affordable price. So, yeah, the micro buckles have proven to work and we've used them now for over 10 years. Great.
Well, if you're the entry-level girl looking for a soft-flexing first time binding, make sure to check out the Haylo on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
