2015 Flow NX2 Mens Binding Overview
Hey there. Welcome to the Morning Shred brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna. This is Tim from Flow and we're going to talk about the Flow NX2 Binding both in the Hybrid and in the Fusion Strap.
So, Tim, this is always a really popular binding for us, why? Well, it's funny you say that, it's one of the most popular bindings for us as well and we sell-out of this binding every year and it's because of the performance and the following that it's established. We launched this style binding about 4 or 5 years ago and really have just worked on it and worked on it and dialed and refined it to the point where it's pretty much bulletproof and super high-performance, great performance level.
Some of the things that you'll find in here, we go to aluminum alloy baseplate. As you can see here. Both lightweight and super rigid, very, very quick edge-to-edge. It's rockered on the bottom so that your contact point is a smaller footprint allowing the board to flex more underneath your foot. The big, heavy duty ratchet buckles that lock into place are featured on this binding as well. And, here you go to a 30% fiberglass highback that is movable. You can adjust this either up or down depending on the height of the person's calf or in or out for additional comfort. In the baseplate you have a 2.5 degree bevel on here so more power to the edge, more comfortable underneath, and we also start adding some OC Kush in here to give the rider a little more comfortable landings, that kind of thing. Absorb vibration coming into the binding. The retractable highback, as you can see, drops down very easy to get in and out of this binding with the forward lean adjustment right up on the highback so very easy to utilize.
Both of these bindings feature the Active Strap Technology which allows the rider the ease of entry right from out of the box til the whole rest of heir existence. Yeah, it actually moves the strap kind of up out of the way while you're pulling the highback down, right? Exactly. So, giving the rider ease of entry when the binding's brand new before they've had an opportunity to break in the strap itself. So, we're talking it comes in the hybrid strap and the fusion strap. Speak a little bit to the hybrid strap and who that's really designed for. Yeah, you know, the iStrap or Fusion Strap, which I have in my hand, is actually the traditional strap, if you will, for Flow. For 3 or 4 years ago we launched the Hybrid Strap in an effort to appeal to people that are in love with toe strap bindings. And it's actually worked very, very well for us. We've opened up a whole new audience of riders to Flow and as a result, you know, we've seen an increase in sales. Yeah, so it has more the feel of a traditional strap binding but obviously the features and convenience of a Flow Binding. Absolutely. It's the best of both worlds. Great.
Well, make sure to check out both the NX2 Hybrid and the NX2 Fusion strap on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
