2016 Burton Citizen Womens Binding Overview
Hey there, welcome to The Morning Shred, brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna, this is Levi from Burton and this is the Burton Citizen binding. Levi this is a great little binding for somebody to start off on but also makes a good soft-flexing binding for anyone, right? Correct, this is a binding that has a ton of features for the price. I dare to say that it is one of the best bindings on the market at this price point. You've got a ton of features that you just don't see at other companies price-point bindings.
A couple of the unique features are the flex underfoot that you get with the Burton chassis that we call Re-Flex, where we've basically gotten rid of most of the material underneath the heel and underneath the toe and we put a hinged disc in here that allows the binding to flex with the boards so it takes away some stress on the board, as well as giving you a better feel for what's going on and keeping this binding really light weight. And in terms of compatibility, it's one of the best out there. It can fit on 4-hole, 3-hole or the Burton channel system as well so you get plates to make it work with each of those. Great, and straps are just real soft-flexing, forgiving; great for kind of that progressing learner, right? Correct. We've got an awesome toe strap on here, we call the Adapt-a-cap toe strap where you can wear it over top of your foot or in front so it can push down and back on the boot.
Also, on the ankle strap, a new feature we added to it this year is this flex slider where it really allows the ankle strap to flop out of the way so that you can get your foot in there nice and easy. Cool thing about this strap here too is that it's actually got a lifetime warranty on it. A lot of people look at it an worry about how long it's going to last but our engineers came up with a really unique way of making this which keeps it even stronger than a typical strap right there so we threw a lifetime warranty on there to go with our lifetime warranty that Burton has on all bases on all of our bindings. A great binding for the price, it's going to be a really good beginner binding with it's nice, soft flex but then also would be a great binding to progress with. You've got full padding underfoot too which is kind of unique at that price point. Definitely, it's a full EVA pad here which will give you a nice level surface for your foot and keep it nice and comfortable so that you can stay out on the hill longer and longer and keep progressing. Great, well if you're a girl that's looking to start snowboarding or somebody that's sort of in the earlier learning stage, make sure to check out the Burton Citizen and thanks for watching The Morning Shred.
