2016 Flow Fuse Binding Overview
Hey there, welcome to the Morning Shred, brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna, this is Tim from Flow and we're going to talk about the Flow Fuse binding. Tim, tell us a little bit about this binding. Yeah, the Fuse is a binding we came out with about I guess, last season and it's a high performance binding that is a composite. So for somebody like myself that likes to feel the board flexing under your foot, this is the high performance binding for you. It features a two-piece highback that can be adjusted up and down in or out and also forward lean adjustment on the back, simple how far forward you want the highback. Of course the power triangle that is what Flow is known for and a suspension underneath the foot that is a two and a half degree bevel so it kind of rocks your foot in, more power to the edge and also a lot more forgiving on your knees. It has the ratchet buckles that can set and locked in place because once this thing breaks in you're going to want to just lock it into place so it's consistent and the same every time. But this being a high performance binding, it does require a little bit of time to break this in.
You've got a little stiffer strap on here. So what've added here in the high performance binding is something we call Active Strap technology. You notice that when I lower the highback just like all the other Flow bindings, this one actually raises up, making it easier to get in and out of especially when this is a brand new binding and this strap hasn't taken on the shape of your foot yet. Yeah, so as you go up the strap gets stiffer, it gets harder to kind of get your foot in there so you make that to accommodate. Yeah, precisely, so quicker to the edge, that kind of thing and conforming to the boot takes a little bit longer because it's stiffer, higher performance.
So mid to high-level guy who's not necessarily looking for something as stiff as an aluminum chassis but wants added performance. Precisely, that's exactly it. Alright, well make sure you check out the Flow Fuse on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
