2016 K2 Darko Boot Overview
Hi there, welcome to the Morning Shred, brought to you by snowboards.com. I'm Jenna, this is Smooches from K2 and this is the K2 Darko. So the Darko has been around for quite awhile, I know it's been one of our better selling higher end boots, and for good reason, right? Tell us a little bit about it. "l" Definitely. So the focus of this boot is a little bit more on kind of that freestyle aspect. As you can see here we do have laces and we also have a Boa system in there. So this allows that, what I'd like to say is that freestyle rider, to kind of control what he's got going on. Whether he wants to have that traditional lace feel and riding a little bit looser but he's also going to have that support and control with the Conda system in there.
So one of the biggest features here, as you see you've got your laces, but then you also have your Boa Conda. What this is going to do is kind of grab that crotch of your foot and pull it all the way back into the heel so it's going to give you superior heel fit and no heel lift for that freestyle nature and then you can keep this loose or tighten it down as you see fit. And then talk a little bit about the liner as well. The liner, we jump up into our Intuition Control Liner so this is a heat moldable liner but the best part about it is it's got internal/external J-bars so again, with that heel story going on, it's going to give you the most secure that you have in one of our liners. So really just sort of that ideal boot for that guy who's looking for a freestyle boot like a lot of freestyle guys do, like the lace-up boots, but then you have that added performance of the Boa dial on there on the side. Definitely. A couple of other features that are added in there: we've got our 3D formed tongue for good articulation so it's going to give the boot real good, natural flex and then we also have our Street-Lite sole so it's going to give you that extra grip as you're hiking the park or pipe or you're out in the street.
Alright, well make sure you check out the K2 Darko on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
