2016 Ride El Hefe Binding Overview
Hi there, welcome to the Morning Shred, brought to you snowboards.com. I'm Jenna, this is Ryan from Ride and we're going to talk about the Ride El Hefe binding. So Ryan, there's obviously a lot going on here, tell us a little bit about this. There's a lot going on in the binding, yeah. It's our highest-end binding, basically who it's for is going to be that high-end, I always call it that Cadillac customer, the high-end freeride guy or somebody that's looking for some heavy response out of a binding. Straps - we've got the ThinFlex ankle strap kind of milled out, gives you great support but it'll also help keep the weight down. Tool-less adjustments, AstroGlyde ratchets, got the thin grip stretch material here basically will stretch over just about any toebox in the game. Wedgie footbed system, this is going to have a 2.5 system and as you can see it comes in this cool case and it will also come with the Wedgie 4.0. The 2.5 is more designed for that freestyle or all-mountain freestyle rider, that Wedgie 4.0 is designed for that guy that's really looking to put some energy into his turns.
Chassis - it's an aluminum chassis, we call it the Infinity Chassis, adjustable heel cup, wedgie footbed system we already just touched on, the highback is kind of the real story on this binding. We use a carbon slimeback so it's a full piece of carbon and it's kind of where the price comes into play because the price of carbon is fairly expensive, so we use urethane in a lot of our stuff as well. So we take carbon urethane, carbon, urethane and kind of make a sandwich out of it so basically you're getting the responsiveness of the carbon and then the urethane is going to dampen the ride so take the chatter and add a little bit more response to it.
One cool thing on this as well, we've been talking a lot about urethane, is it has the rollbar on it, Urethane Rollbar. So basically what that is is more urethane underneath your binding, also going to take some of the chattering and vibration coming up out of your board. So this is the guy that just wants the smoothest but more aggressive kind of ride, right, most performance, most response out of the binding? Exactly and the guy that is looking for options with the Wedgie 4.0 - yep - customization. It also has the Flip Side on it. It's kind of this deal right here, after it builds memory that FliipSide will keep that from popping in or getting in your way, you're not stepping on it or snapping your straps.
Great, well there you go, if you're looking for what Ryan called the Cadillac of bindings, check out the Ride El Hefe on snowboards.com and thanks for watching the Morning Shred.
