The removable, adjustable powder skirt works with the PJ pant-to-jacket connect system to keep snow and cold air out. Multiple pockets, including an internal mesh storage/goggle pocket and a smartphone pocket with an audio cord outlet are ideal for holding on slope necessities. The helmet compatible, adjustable hood is perfect when things start to cool down and you need additional protection from the elements; and underarm vents are put in place for when things start to heat up on the hill. I bought this jacket for my daughter and was disappointed in the insulation. It was rated as a warm jacket but it is really more of a high tech shell. You would need several layers underneath to spend the day skiing in this jacket. Ordered the purple/navy and it looks great, just not warm enough.
Sadly, I was really looking forward to this jacket. When I received it, I was surprised how thin it was. I could feel every gust of wind through this jacket. I would call this jacket more along the lines of a shell. I will keep this for a fall/spring jacket but I had to purchase another jacket that had insulation to be able to survive the slopes and just winter. With this shell, you would have to wear multiple layers just to block out feeling the wind and cold. Zero insulation in arms and minor insulation in body.I have the purple and pink I will say it is a nice looking style but not useful for keeping warm.
