 Overview

The Giro Combyn has the style and protection for skiers to be killing it in the park, or anywhere on the mountain. The Soft Shell Design has a flexible outer shell that can absorb both high and low energy impacts. Soft Shell helmets have the ability to fit tricky to fit head shapes by conforming to the shape and contours of the head, while maximizing protection. A Removable Goggle Retainer allows you to wear your goggles underneath the Combyn for the park pro look. Super Cool Vents keep a constant flow of air moving through the helmet to cool you down when you are really charging down the mountain, hiking back up the pipe for another lap, or getting after it on a spring day. A Fit Kit Pad System gives you the ability to customize the fit by adding or removing different sized padding for total comfort. Stack Venting keeps air moving on the top of your goggles to prevent fogging. If you are looking for the ultimate helmet for freestyle riding, that feels very comfortable riding in any terrain, the Giro Combyn is the helmet for you.

Fantastic Helmet
Comments:
I had my eye on this helmet for quite some time and I finally pulled the trigger and bought it. The soft-she'll construction took some getting used to but this is by far the most comfortable helmet I have owned. Giro is a leading name in helmets and this is clearly a high quality helmet and passes the eye test. I have yet to take an impact while wearing this helmet though. I also use this helmet during the warmer to commute to work with on my bike. The ear pads are easily removable and the ventilation is adequate for spring and fall temps. All in all, a stylish low-profile helmet good for the 3 seasons. Well worth the money.

I'll never wear another helmet
Comments:
This is the best helmet I have ever used. The fit is out of this world, with the softer padding and the soft shell the helmet seems to self adjust to the shape of my head. This is the first helmet i have ever used that i don;t get any sort of "hot spot" where the shape of my head doesn't match the shape of the helmet and cause discomfort. The goggle clip is a little loose and that can be annoying at times but not anywhere enough for me to knock any stars off the helmet. I've owned this helmet for two years and have never thought once about switching for something different.
I love it and can't recommend it enough.

Not Good For a Youngster
Comments:
I bought this helmet for my 10 year old son who snowboards because I thought there was some merit to the soft construction being comfortable, fitting well and protecting his head if he falls. I think it was comfortable and fit his head well. The problem has to due with using goggles with this helmet especially with a youngster. Two issues: 1. there is no brim and a very short, sloped forehead area with this helmet, so when he would try to lift his goggles off his eyes and have them up on the helmet, they would slip over the top and end up in the back. 2. the helmet clip in the back of the helmet is a terrible design. It is removable and un-clips way too easily! We almost lost it because it comes off so easily. Additionally, it is too low on the helmet structure. If you try to use it, it will hold your goggle band slanted downward too much. It does not hold the pressure of the elastic band of your goggle on the back of your head where it would be stable. I have no idea what they were thinking about with this goggle clip?? I exchanged this helmet for a Giro Seam helmet which has a brim, and a groove for the goggle band around the sides and a properly positioned and fixed helmet clip in the back. Will make goggle wearing much easier, especially with a 10 year old.

Customer service at Snowboards.com was great! They understood my complaints and worked well with me on the exchange.
