 Overview

For a fun ride all day the Rome Shank Snowboard is the one to hop on. This board features NoHangUps rocker that puts a large diamond shape flat zone in the center of the board to give you stability and pop and it will blend into a subtle 3D rocker zone that will eliminate those nasty edge catches. The SuperPop wood core will feel softer between your feet while being stiff in the tip and tail to give you that extra ollie power and to give you a more skate like feel. The Rome Shank snowboard also features Basalt Impact Plates that re-inforce the high stress areas to give you added durability and dampening.

  • QuickRip Sidecut
  • Carbon Single Barrel Hotrods
  • Basalt Impact Plates for durability and dampening

2014 Rome Shank Snowboard Review
Comments:
Hey, this is Ian. I just got done riding the Rome Shank in a 153. I give this board 4 out of 5 stars. This is a great freestyle, street, jib board, for your intermediate to advance base rider. Has the no hang ups rocker, so it's actually flat in between your feet, and then has rocker up in the tip and the tail. Hot Rods Carbon Barrel, so it's actually got a stringer of carbon up in the tip and the tail, so it actually just gives you a little bit of extra pop when you load up the board. Basalt Impact Plates underneath your feet so it actually softens the blow when you're landing on the flats. Great, fun, freestyle, board, 4 out of 5 stars. Rome Shank.

2014 Rome Shank Snowboard Review
Comments:
Hey, this is Randy and this is my review of the Rome Shank. I give this board 3 out of 5 stars. It's a nice, little jib board. It'd be really nice riding some urban in it, on urban handrails and attacking it there, it's a really nice stable board. Out here in the park, it's not too bad, I'm just looking for a little bit more. Once again, I give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

Q: I'm debating between the Shank and the K2 WWW. Would you recommend one over the other to help make my decision easier? I'm basically riding down groomers and getting into hitting small boxes and rails. Want something that has more flex then my postermania. Any opinions which I should aim for more, shank vs K2 www?

A: Hi Ron, this is a tough one! Both boards will be softer than your Postermania, and both boards are similar and totally appropriate for what you're looking for. If anything, I'd say the WWW has a little bit more tech to it. The WWW has what K2 calls "Jib Tip" and "Tweekends". Essentially these together give you a shorter nose and tail and large flat areas perfect for pressing and buttering. In fact, it'll actually make it easier to learn to press or butter if that's what you're after. Due to this shaping, you can also ride the WWW 5cm smaller than your normal size. The Shank is still a fun freestyle deck, the WWW just offers a little bit more for progression. Hope this helps!
