The roster over at Salomon just got a little bit beefier with the addition of Takaharu Nakai, a next level rider who should be on your radar if he is not already. Takaharu grew up riding epic powder in Hokkaido Japan and currently resides and rips Whistler Blackcomb. Takaharu gained his popularity and was noticed in the 2002 Olympic games in Salt Lake City Utah and has been steadily ripping since then.
Takaharu departed from Burton and Analog based on his decision to ride for Salomon Snowboards and Bonfire Outerwear. Takaharu had this to say: “I decided to join the team after really enthusiastic talks with Rio Tahara, Bonfire and Salomon’s Sports Marketing Manager in Japan. He helped me see a bright future with both the brands. I look forward to riding and hanging out with the international team and the team in Japan. It’s an awesome crew,”
Global Team Manager for Salomon Java Fernandez stated “Takaharu’s ill. I heard he filmed his part in the Alterna movie in just more than a month. I’ve seen it and it’s heavy. He’s on some next level shit and it won’t be long for the world to see that. He is a loose individual and I’m so psyched to have him on the team. Welcome Takaharu”
Salomon now has a ripping roster of riders including Wolfgang Nyvelt, David Benedek, Louif Paradis, Annie Boulanger, Josh Dirksen, Jenny Jones, Sylvain Bourbousson, Scotty Arnold and now Takaharu Nakai.
