Comments about Smith Skullcandy Twin-Tip Helmet Audio Kit:
I've got to say that it's strange to purchase a name brand product made by 2 name brand companies (Smith and Skull Candy) and have them later tell you it really doesn't have what is shown and really doesn't work like they said. I've got a Smith helmet so I wanted to buy what sounded like a good Smith audio system. It arrived, and like the other reviewer said, it doesn't have the ear pads that hold the speakers. Secondly, the box clearly identifies the microphone in the clip on volume control unit. But when I tried testing it, I could yell into the supposed Mic all I wanted but nobody could hear me. I called Smith and they said, despite what the box says, there is really no mic there at all. Instead it's buried inside one of the earphone where it seems to get especially bad reception (that's going to work real well on a ski-lift). Third, you are supposed to be able to control the phone (answer & hang up) with the button on the non-existent mic. Again, when I called Smith, they told me that won't work unless you plug the iPod plug into the phone but then you can't control the iPod. I've tried it in about 6 phones. I got the feeling from Smith, that they got burned by Skull Candy but it's their name on it. Also, it's not like this is high tech electronics here. Frankly this is one of the most absurd products I've ever gotten.

Comments about Smith Skullcandy Twin-Tip Helmet Audio Kit:
The speakers work fine, though the advanced control features only work on a few products, but that doesn't bother me too much. The big problem is that the ear pads to put the speakers in is not included, this is the audio unit only. I tried to obtain replacement pads from skis.com but it's been over 2 weeks with no word. I'm talking directly to Smith now though and I think I can get them from there.
So...if you have earpads that have zips in them and you can put the speakers in, this will be fine. Otherwise, make sure you find someone who will include the earpads.
